So do I start the car or just turn the key so the electronics come on? -fist click - that's what I did.

You can start the car, or have the key in the position just before you start it. Either or....

Are you getting a message on the screen when you try to upgrade?

"Incorrect CD/DVD in navigation computer. Please insert appropriate CD/DVD" is the only message I get on the screen.

Oops, did see that you posted that earlier. Sorry..

I'm not sure why you would be getting that message. Short of making sure that you burned the CD at the lowest speed and tried differetn media, I don't know why it wouldn't work.

One more try - I talked to a guy at work and he says the problem is probably that I unpacked the ISO and then burned it rather than letting the software burn the image from the ISO itself - so I'm trying to do that now. -I'll let ya know. This is crazy! At least I haven't screwed up my current stuff yet

Yeah! The firmware finally updated 4 - 1/00 does that sound right? Unfortunately it still won't read the 2007.2 DVD I got - still reads the 2003.2 fine. ...and that's the whole reason I was trying to do the firmware upgrade. Is there something different about the (DVD-CCC) DVDs that they won't work with my Mk4?

Is it a high DVD or professional? If it is professional it is for the wrong system.

It just says MINI ON_BOARD NAVIGATION SYSTEM (DVD-CCC) North America 65 90 0 415 624 then 2007.2 under the DVD logo

The cardboard case doesn't say anything about professional.

Looks like DVD-CCC is the professional version. That disk is not compatible with the 06 and earlier MINI system.

bit confused

Just bought my wife a 52 plate Cooper with SatNav, read one of your earlier posts which said to burn os update disc in mode 1 for MK3 system, did this and disc is now stuck in the drive. Tried pulling the fuse and replacing then holding down the eject button, all to no avail!! i can hear the drive whirring, but cant get the disc out. do i need to remove power (by removing the fuse) for a minimum amount of time (say 5mins)? or do i have to disconnect the battery?

Stuck with just a black screen and a very unhappy wife.

Have downloaded magic ISO and installed on a Virtual Machine (i run a MAC) so can burn in mode 2, but until i can get the disc out i cant try it! any ideas would be greatly received!!

Thanks

Let the car sit for a while, this will allow the NAV system to shut down. Then get in and press/hold the eject button for about 3 min. Then release and press three times in succession. It should eject during this time. After you do that, simply burn the new CD in Mode 2 / Form 1 at the lowest speed and it should fix your problem.

Glad to hear that you got it sorted!

The MKIV is a worthy upgrade if you like the OEM nav.
