Hi Dave, pics of my ice install here: http://www.dmellors.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/mini.html

With some very careful thought and clever planning you can just about fit anything in a mini. Just depends on how useable you want to keep the car. If space is a premium which it probably will be then stick to one amp (4-channel) something like a JL Audio or Genesis if you're a true audiophile like me. There's plenty of others to choose from almost too many. Personally I'm not a fan on mounting amps in the rear panels as a hideaway unit. Mainly for access and accident saftey although if fitted correctly safety shouldn't be a problem. You won't get much in the glovebox without some serious mods but overheating won't be a problem with the air conditioning in there. Under the seats is a good option providing the amps are fairly small and there is good air flow. Best place is in the boot depending on how much space you want to lose, not that there is a lot to start off with. Currently working on my install, headunit is done. (Alpine IVA-D310). Need to fit the Diamond Audio Hex's up front after I've Dynamatted the doors. Then JL Audio 10" sub in the boot all powered either by a JL Audio or ideally a Genesis Compact four Amp. Pictures to follow if I ever finish it.

I had a JL 1000/1 amp running a JL w7 12" in a custom fibreglass box. I also had a JL 300/2 mounted to the rear seats running a set of PG elites with the cross over under the passenger seat. My PG bass cube and zero guage distribution block where behind one of the side panels. It was a bit of a tight fit

I've got an amp under each seat. A baby McIntosh 2-channel for the front speakers, and a JL Audio 250/1 for the stealthbox sub in the boot (amp under the seat, sub in the boot). Here's a glimpse of the JL amp under one seat: ![]() And the McIntosh under the other: ![]() The McIntosh doesn't fit completely in the little well under the seat, so it's up at a bit of an angle with the back end up on the floor of the car instead of down in the well.

I have a four channel Lightning Audio mounted in the boot on a false floor for easy battery access. ![]() For more shots on Ice install, follow link: SmugMug - chris bowens (bonz) : Aftermarket Stereo Install Later
