New BMW Ipod Adapter for Sat Nav Display

Couldn't find any metion of this in a search. On "ipodyourbmw.com" (can't post url's till I have 5 posts) if you wait for the pop up and then click "New iPod Interface Coming Soon" you can watch a video that shows an iPod being controlled with the iDrive system with on screen display through the Sat Nav but on a BMW. If you click on compatability all 2002+ 3 series are included, as I believe the Mini uses the same Sat Nav system does this mean that we will finally be able to control the iPod through the display?
There is also a price of $149 which I think would be an absolute bargin! Has anyone from the US heard anything about this or when it will be available?

No, this is basically the same thing that is already out. It is an IPOD interface that takes place of the six disc CD Changer. The reason that they can use the jog to change lists is because that system is integrated into the car and is part of the radio functionality. We don't have that in the MINI. Bottom line is that you will have to get third party if your want ID3 tags.

Also, the 149 is pretty standard already from BMW. The intallation fees are what drove it up and are not quoted there.

Thought it sounded too good to be true, thanks for clearing that up anyway.

idrive sat/nav & ipod?

it seems the 2007 model mini will have some kind of idrive. will the option mentioned on ipodyourmini.com will now work in the new mini? or is this maybe already a feature in the new sat/an system?
