Linking MP3 player to head unit

Hi Guys,

I might be acquiring an MP3 player very shortly, and as I'm no technical whizz, I thought I'd ask for your help!

I have a JVC head unit in my MINI (touch screen one). I want to know how I go about linking my MP3 player to the actual unit - what wires should I go and buy, how do I fix it up?

Thanks!

Jay

Totally dependant on the head unit you have - not a MINI question but a JVC xxxx model question! First, find the JVC model number, then check the JVC website

Loads of web sites confirm that unit has an aux input (rear connector)

iPod?

But you're right - I can see the operation manual but not the install manual. However I guess the install manual should have come with the unit so will detail the rear aux connector

ARGH!

Thanks though

Hey Mikey,

It's a Sony NWA, or will be iPod due to other M2ers recommendations. Do you do iPod and fitting packs?

Kev,

Will this let me control the iPod through the head unit - as that's the reason I want to get it, otherwise it's a little pointless!

Jay, the fact that you've managed to remove the stereo from your car means you'll be able to fit this, dead easy mate.

Thats right.. no more CD's .
