i got a 03 plate with gps, can i stick a newer dvd in and get 3d maps etc?

im pretty sure an 03 will be a mk3 unit ie not the DVD based system

dont think it will accept the DVD - maybe sumone else can clarify

funny the speed camera option is under "entertainment"

I don't know how to, nor if it's possible, as ultimately I only followed someone else's guide. You may want to check out X5world.com as there's quite a bit of information there on the forums about this topic because the X5 and X3 (and possibly other BMW models) use the same navigation system.

oh sorry i misread, mine IS the dvd version, so i could just follow this guide and be away, also do you think this will get me 3d maps?

Absolutely. If you want to enable the 3D map (perspective mode) simply follow my post #28.

Unfortunately none of this stuff is strictly legal. Hacking the code and making a duplicate disc even for personal use are both illegal acts in Europe and the US.
However if BMW did decide to prosecute for hacking their software/discs they might be lenient if you had the original disc!

That I'm not sure about. It's your disc and as long as you do not duplicate it to sell, you can do as you please. There's certainly nothing illegal about integrating a custom POI as far as I'm aware!

Doh Just spotted this thread. I have just aquired one of these Whilst the mapping and postcode is ok the camera part does not work in the mini
Contacted seller and he says it will not work in 7,5 series and mini

Is there a way of making it work??Not forgetting you are talking to a a puter nurd
