I know it may be a dumb question, but I've spent last 3 hours trying to figure it out on my own with not much luck. I want to install new Dice Electronics Ipod controller on my 2005 Cooper S with HK (no Nav). I know the CD Changer socket should be near the HK amp on the right side of the trunk. But there is none! I even took out the back seats and side trim (hoping to lay the wire properly after I find the connector), but there is no socket! Does anybody know any other place it could be in '05 MCS w/HK? Please help!
When i fitted this to my 54 cooper it was located in the cubby whole you mean but was taped down quite heavily. All you could see was the small black connector/connectors?
I had to remove some of the binding to gain access to the wires.
Went to the service dept today and they said that those CD Changer cables just no loger being installed in newer models. Duh?! So, now to wire it all I'd have to buy $107 cd changer wire kit. and run both or them through the car (or cut and solder). This is just nuts!
Thanks Checkie. I know which ones you are talking about as I saw it in another Mini at the service center. But those are definitely missing on mine. And the dealer says that's the norm... But from what I can see, I'm totaly out of luck... Also, can't find those R40 Head unit connectors being available anywhere on the net. Probably may try and check with some wreckage companies..
I'm in the EXACT same situation as you! I've pulled the H/K amp out of the cubby, and there are NO CD changer cables in there. Dammit this is very frustrating! BTW I've got an '06 Cooper S JCW.
