Passenger seat problem

Hey Guys,

Have a problem getting my passenger seat to lock into position after it being reclined - as in its not doing it at all! When in the reclined position and i try to use the back rest lever (beside handbreak) it just locks up and the only way to move it is by pressing the door side one down. I spoke to dealer and he said i ran reset the mechanism in the seat by pulling the levers in opposite directions. Has anyone had the same or similar problem? Any help would be great as i got a long drive tomorrow and i dont want the misses giving me grief for the roller coaster like experience!

The earlier builds were pretty well known for seat mechanism problems, but the latter cars have seemed much better. I'd let the dealer have a go if it's in warranty and go from there.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for that. It is a 54 model, didnt expect it from that! Woodman mini said i could reset it, but one in chesterfield i went to today said i may need a new back rest as it may be broke. But he really didnt seem that clued up to be honest. Yeah its still under warranty, just a bit of a pain really. Booking it in etc. Ah well ill just book it in when i get back to london. Ill go and give it one more try and take it from there!

We had one go mad on an older car and managed to fiddle and hit it and it never went wrong again. It it's broken it's broken so no harm in giving it a wiggle I guess. Could save a journey.
