Removing Inside rear window sticker....

Howdy Folks,

i bought my MCS a month ago and it came with window tints which was what i wanted ....however the dealer logo sticker is also embedded onto the inside rear window, making it look silly.

I wana remove it asap but duno which is the best method without pealing the tints off. Has anyone done this b4 or know how to do it???...i was thinkin of some warm air from a hairdryer but wont try anything just incase.

Your suggestions would be appreciated

As long as they are FACTORY darkened glass and NOT AFTERMARKET you should be OK.
I would use a cloth soaked in hot water to soften the decal then just peel it of and then clean glass with some meths.

IF this is factory tint (colored glass and not paste on's) the best method that I have found for any tint or sticker is a hairdryer. Working from top to bottom, heat a small area and start to peel it back.

If this is a aftermarket tint, then it gets a little more tricky and TBH, I would have the dealer that was dumb enough to put a sticker on it remove it.

Shame dealers dont use the piece of flexible plastic for their stickers without glue. Then anyone can take them off. John Cooper Garage did that on my car, so I can take it off if I want too. Funny, its the only dealer sticker that I have ever wanted to leave on!

Thanx guys for your suggestions, yes they are authentic factory tints from mini so hopefully it will make removing a lot simpler....

i told the dealer to take it off which they had a go at but it looks as though the tints were sticking to the sticker...silly fools

Sitcky residue, ohhh er

If you have some of that sticky cr4p left behind on the screen use a clean rag and some Methylated Spirits (purple fluid available from all DIY shops). It smells a bit but removes the sticky residue in seconds!!

question - is the sticker on the tint or the tint on the sticker?

To get the sticky bits off I use the stickers themselves. for some reason the glue on the back of the sticker will stick to the glue on the surface and peel it off. Try it on any sticker next time oyu take one off. Just keep pressing the sticker back onto the glue and pull it off. works every time.

Lighter fluid is also very good at getting the sticky residue off - and it doesn't attack the plastics.
