Can american radio on a cd player be changed to UK radio

Just come back from america and purchased a jvc avx2 cd player there are two things wrong with it. With it being american the radio channel are all odd number e.g. 102.1 or 102.3 so I can't get some of the radio stations I want. Also the dvd player only plays american dvds and not UK dvds does anyone know if this can be solved. Thanks

JVC is notorius for putting unlock codes in the regular DVD players (american living in Germany). However, you may have to do some serious googling to find out how.

Hey,

I am sorry to say that you might be out of luck. DVD players and tvs use in America use NTSC and everything in Europe use PAL. Its a compatiblity issue that can't really be gotten around. I am sorry but I think you might be out of luck.

Wales region code

Some home dvd players have a region code that can be changed ( from region 1 to 2 and back). but i'm not sure if this applies to car dvd players? there's usually something in the menu where you can change the region.

Medic,

This is not a problem with DVD players as the output is raw video feed that this then converted to the format needed by the TV. I have a region free dvd player at my home that plays PAL dvds and shows them on a NTSC tv with no problems (so I can watch German DVDs on my American TV). It is just a matter of "unlocking" or changing the device. Did you know that most DVD players are region free until you use them. Once you play a certain region over a specified amount of times (usually 5), it then locks the device to that region code.
