hi, ive just downloaded a sat nav software upgrade from x5world and burned it as a Image file. can i upgrade my 52-plate sat nav system? i burned the software on a CD-R so will it update or would i need a DVD system.... Thanks

The update you'll find on X5world (v28, I assume) is for the DVD (MK4) navigation system. The easiest way to check what you have is by going into the settings and noting the version number displaying in the top right-hand corner of the screen. If it starts with 4, you have the DVD system. If it's 3, you have the older CD-based system, and you can't load this version.

ok thanks, i havent got the DVD version. Are there any updates for the CD version?

I'd like to know about this too. My missus has just bought a 2002 Mini Cooper S with the inbuilt, factory fitted Sat Nav system. However, the Sat Nav system is total tosh (far removed from what I'm used to) and hasn't been updated from the day it was bought in 2002.

Does anyone know if you can update the software on this, and if so, how and what version would I need?

V22 is the latest and probably last for the MKIII which is identified with a 3 at the beginning of the version. If you go to setup on the screen, it should be in the upper right hand corner. You would see 3-1/63 as the version.
