Sat Nav Dvd Mk4

hi ive currently got th CD version factory sat nav on my 52 plate cooper S. My mate asked at BMW MINI and they said that you cant upgrade to the DVD based system but ive read on the forum that you can. Does anyone know the process of changing over i.e What i need, how long it takes etc...

My understanding is that it is a simple swap of the units and that is it. The downside of it is the cost.

BMW MINI will often say things that are not totally true. For instance I wanted TMC on my american model car and all I had to do was swap the HU to get it. MINI said I needed to rewire the car.

I have changed mine. Straight swop. Takes approx 1hour.You may have to pay BMW to update to the latest version V27.1 I think, but apart from that its easy
Am now hopefully in the process of fitting a 2006 boost CD HU and that should give me TMC as well

Updates can be found on-line and the latest is V28.

Hi I have I think the CD Version of the Sat Nav and it wont sync. It thinks I am in the bay or Biscay. How do i reset to get the thing working again?
