Is this a BOOST CD Player? - MINI Cooper Forum

Hiya - can anyone confirm whether this is the BOOST cd player that plays MP3s or not? I have tried several MP3 disks and none of them work

No, that's the older style of BOOST CD Player which won't play MP3 discs.

You would need one which looks like:

If you can get hold of one they are a straight swap

Thanks for the reply, I have the HK sound system installed in my MCS, will changing the radio from my current 'boost' model to the newer shape 'boost' radio affect anything? Will all the MFSW buttons still work etc?

Pass - I don't think you need a different head unit for HK, but I'm not entirely sure - I'm sure someone will know

Should be a straight swap. My 06 Alpine OEM HU is for sale still (125 Euro plus shipping) and it plays MP3's. I have HK in my car, but swapped for a unit that could handle TMC here in Germany.
