Thumbs up Start button

Have just seen this as an option that can be fitted to all mini models. (as seen on mini.co.uk)

http://accessories.mini.com/internet...imageVersion=5

Has anybody had this fitted? and is it applicable to all models, both new and old?

£115 for parts.

Not sure how much labour is.

Would really like it !

I'm serously concerned about start buttons, why add an extra operation to the process, it adds time and complexity to "the moving off in a cloud of exhaust fumes" quickly

I've got one, but to be honest it's a bit of a waste of time

The key still has to be turned, and then you press the button.

Not sure about labour as i got it done by a mate

Agreed, but its part of my job to reduce complexity along with unnecessary build sequences

can you still turn the key the whole way to start the engine anyway, or does fitting the start button mean you _have_ to always use the button?

Mine arrived with yesterday's mail delivery. Gonna put it on this week-end. I've had other 1950s sports cars with push/pull engine starts. Nostalgic accessory IMHO, not a gotta have, but will definitely let other MINI owners know that you're in the know.

Anyone know though how much MINI would charge to fit it?

Hi just want to know, so you switch on with the button but do you switch off the engine with the button, both or just the key?
