| as you've moved more than 500 miles since you last used it, the GPS almanac data will be incorrect - this is the data that tells the unit which satellites will be where at any given time. Turn it on and leave it with a clear view of the sky for about 45 minutes or more, this will then allow it to find new satellites. And no, I dont work for TomTom, I work for a better GPS company - Garmin. ![]() |

| I've just got back from the US over the weekend and used a TomTom 910 while there and never once did I have any problems getting a signal - it was 4 or 5 bars all the time. However this model has the maps built in but I would've thought that wouldn't affect the GPS reception. |

| Was in the USA in July, worked perfectly; just leave it to get a signal takes a bit longer than normal as you moved a few thousand miles I think it took around 30mins or so before it got a signal. But once you have a signal every time you use it after that it will pick up a signal in a few minutes.. just as if you was in the UK ![]() |
