cabin temp control lights half working?!

Hi All,

On my cabin temp control panel, only some of the the settings are illuminated. All the settings on the heat control light up but only half on the fan speed and none on the direction. Anyone have a similar experience?

Is this relatively easy to fix? Have no idea these lights work.

many thanks!

Nell

I had the exact same thing happen to my October 2004 MCS. I brought the car to BMW under warranty and i figured a series of LEDs were gone or something but they took the car and examined the unit and then said they would have to replace the complete temp control panel. I was booked in again and they changed it under warranty. Hope that helps!

Also, a route you could explore first if you don't want to go to BMW straight away is to try rest the ECU (disconnect battery for 5-10mins) and hope its a software fault - A couple of people suggested that to me but to be honest it didn't work for me and your problem sounds exactly like mine! Hope you get it sorted!

Blimey... replacing the temp control sounds pricey.. I'll give the ecu reset a go first..... that won't effect the mapping for my GTT220 will it?

Many thanks,

Neil
