| I think the easiest way to plug the adaptor into the head unit on an 06 model is to remove the head unit. This is really easy. Remove the 4 torx screws (2 on each of the down tubes) push the down tubes up and out thus revealing the 4 screws that hold the head unit in place. Remove those 4 screws and the head unit will then slide out. If you want to install the aux jack in the glove box then the glove box will need to be removed. I left mine behind the dash because I have no need to keep plugging and unplugging my ipod cable. I was concerned that the cable might flap around and rattle, so this is what I did to secure it. If you open the drivers door and remove the plastic panel from the end of the dash board you will be able to see behind the dash. You will see there is an aluminum bracket with 3 holes in it. The smaller of these holes is about 1/8th inch too small to receive the aux input jack, so I drilled it out and now the jack is held securely in place with the locking nut that came with the jack. |
