How much have you been charged to reset the air bag light?

From browsing the forums it looks like BMw have the monopoly on resetting air bag lights. So, how much have any of you guys been charged for having this done? Just phoned my local dealer and got a quote of £77.50!!!!! Looks like I'm in the wrong business!!!

Why does the airbag light need re-setting?
If the answer is that "It's come on", then that unfortunately is not much help.
There was a fault with the passenger seat loom on early cars (upto '03 I think) and a replacement was necessary (usually done under warranty if memory serves me correctly)
Non-warranty might explain £77.50
If it's just a case of accessing the diagnostic port and clearing a fault code, then they're taking the p**s

It came on because I had to remove the drivers seat and disconnect the two air bag cables. All it needs is a simple reset. And I agree £77.50 is taking the ****!!

Agree that it's taking the wee. However, always disconnect the battery leads before attempting any electrical work on the car, especially anything relating to the airbags and save yourself £77.50!

Hmmm, I though I had disconnected it. I certainly remember reconnecting it later that day after installing my sat nav unit.

Oh well, shop around I think!
