I'm trying to update my ice>Link Plus firmware as I've just got a 5G iPod and I know the new firmware fixes some UI issues (which I've noticed). However, it just doesn't work.
I import the UPDATE playlist, everything copies over to the iPod, I go to the car, play Start_Update.mp3, plug it in, and nothing happens!
Has anyone successfully done it?

I did it the other day by doing what you did - playing the Start_Update.mp3 file and then putting it into the cradle. I updated to 2.17 firmware, as I have an aftermarket HU.
However, I noticed that I had to create a new playlist manually containing all the files as the playlist didn't import. I created a smart playlist containing files of genre "config", turned off shuffle and repeat play, then browsed to Start_Update.mp3.....all went OK for me.....
Thanks for that; I'll see if that makes any difference. I'd give Dension a call or send an email if I didn't think the response would be utterly useless!

Yeh - I just been to the dension support site & they no longer have firmware on it - it says its not needed as full features are already available ???
It does say you need to download 2 packages onto your ipod though
Follow the steps below to update firmware when menu is not available:
Delete previous update files and reset iPod.
Copy the update package to iPod (cca 750 files).
Copy the Start_Update.mp3 onto iPod.
Disconnect iPod from PC.
Power on the car radio and change source to ice>Link (CD changer).
Select Browse/Genres/_config/Menu/Update/Start_Update song and play it on iPod.
While playing, insert iPod into the cradle or connect the dock cable; update process will start automatically.
After about 5 minutes, ice>Link will restart with the new firmware.
While displaying "Dont browse.." message you can check version number in the top right corner
of the screen.
