Sorry more ipod questions - but theres so much info sorry guys, but doing a search for Ipod connectivity brings up a host of threads, some with 000s of posts. Mods - any chance of a sticky just with bare bones facts comparing the (overpriced?) MINI connection compared to say the Harmon and Kardon and the Dension ice link....: puzzled: anyway here are my questions - forgetting costs just now... i want to keep my ipod locked away, so which of the two will allow me control over the ipod on the mini Boost head unit (with MFSW)? what is the extent of the control - are ipod controls mapped so i can 'scroll' through song/artists using head unit/mfsw will artists/song appear in the head unit I have seen talk of playlists (i am assuming that the head unit look on the playlists as cds) can i scroll through all songs on my ipod or, am i limited to setting up playlists to map to pseudo cds in a changer - if so - do playlists need to be a fixed no. of songs my mini came with the cd changer in the boot does this help/hinder either option. obviously i am happy to ditch the changer if i can get a good ipod connector.. please help as there is lots of info across lots of posts.... mSm |

| Easy one ![]() Icelink plus for Boost with dock connector - NewMINIStuff.com This is Plug & Play, charges the ipod, the ipod can live in the glove box or drivers cubby. You will get scrolling titles on the stereo display, from the mfsw control of tracks & volume. From the stereo direct access tio your first 5 playlists (any name) then after pressing button 6 you will get a menu on the stereo allowing you to browse playlists, artists & albums. The only downside is you lose the cd changer If you wish to keep the cd changer then we have the gateway 400 which allows ipod & changer but at this time I have not got titles operational |

| Thanks for that.. have spoken to other half and that looks like it will do the trick... so a couple more questions... what are the benefits of the active cradle over the dock connector (is it purely so you can mount rather than hide the ipod) as the cd changer (and cable once cd changer has gone) is in the boot i was going to keep ipod in the boot, so i assume i can either mount a cradle there or just use a dock connector if i can find somewhere to locate the ipod safely.... mSm |
