I have a Tom Tom Go which the One replaced and the mapping for France is amazing. We took a wrong lane on the Périphérique and it immediately told us to take the next right fork, the 7th exit of the next roundabout and we were back on our route. How much of an argument would you have with the passenger about how to get back on route without Tom Tom?

I just got a TomTom One Europe for my Fiancee for a Valentines/Birthday present. TBH I would not go for any make other than TomTom. I've used TomTom 5 and 6 on my XDA II and both were great. I've yet to hear a bad word against TomTom really apart from minor niggles. A work collegue and I recently had the displeasure of going round and round in circles in Leeds under the direction of co pilot on the XDA Orbit. He has since been on other journeys where it does the same thing. He is now going to stick TomTom on it as this works a lot better. My Fiancee's Dad also has a Road Angel 6000 and, although the directions are great, after a few weeks the standby button broke so it can only be turned on and off and when charging the unit now has to be on, if it's off it wont charge so the charging takes a much longer time and leaves the screen blazing away. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's

Check out this website: Compare GPS Prices Should find yourself one on there! The tomtom510 deal with free traffic from Dixons looks good. I've had the original tomtom one for ages and I bought the full European maps for about £80 downloaded directly from TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems. I've also subscribed to the tomtom traffic and speedcameras service via my mobile phone GPRS connection using bluetooth, but it's not that great. Look on TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems for the differences between the one, 510, 710 and 910 - it can get a bit confusing. Also look on Pocket GPS World for great advice and review. You could also consider the Garmin range: www.garmin.co.uk as they are pretty good. If you want any advice just shout - I've been messing around with tomtoms for ages!

So did you go for the tomtom 1 then me dear Minnie Mouse??? I think there's a new revised version which does bluetooth so I guess means the same hands free that we have with our 710 in our other car. Thinking of getting a tomtom 1 for the MINI - your thoughts would be good!! Hope you're well MD x
