I don't see why the Gateway won't display text on the Nav system, I can however see why you might think there is a problems with it!

When you load the Gateway text selection file from a USB stick the Gateway will display text in three different ways at the same time, asking you which you want to select by pressing the number that you can see in the location you want. This is all well and good, but there is a flaw in the mechanism.

The three places that the Gateway displays text are as a Phone message, on the Nav screen and on the MID (BMW 5 Series). The problem is that the text you see on the Nav system is the phone message, which always overrides the Nav system, I think that this text mechanism is number 1. The Nav text is, I think, number 2, but you can't see it because of the phone message text.

Try loading the text selection file on the USB stick, then select text type number 2 and see what happens.

I've not used a Gateway 400 on a Mini, but I can't see why it would work on the BMW Nav system (in an E46) and not on the Mini.

Because of the way the ibus works the displays on the Mini - it sees them all as the same so it doesnt work - we have been banging our heads about this one for ages
