Want to keep your CD changer & connect an ipod or USB device? no problem
This device plugs into your cd changer (in the boot) & gives you a ipod dock connector, USB socket & aux socket. It works with Wave, Boost & HK stereos.
On 05/06 Minis with Boost or Hk (not nav) you can get artist & track titles scrolling on the stereo & fully browse folders, playlists, artists & albums.
You can plug in an ipod, USB memory stick or USB equiped MP3 player

How easy is the device to use?
The interface any good?
Also, originally when these were launched, the website/gateway400 manual says that you have to switch off your ignition when changing from CD changer to Gateway/usb/ipod for the radio to "pick up the change"?
Has this been solved on these models or is that still the case?
1. If you set it to display track info on the HU, is track info still visible from the ipod,
2. Can the MFSW as WELL AS THE ipod controls be used to change tracks/artists etc ,ie:do the ipod controls remain active?
3. Is the cable long enough to connect at the cd changer in the trunk, and have the ipod/usb sitting in the front visible by driver?
4. How does one change from CDC to Gateway devices?is it just a switch, or do you have to turn ignition off as per the above post, or is it just a flick of the switch?
5.Ease of use?
Could we maybe have a small review of the gateway 400?
If you have it in ipod/usb mode then if you have an ipod & usb plugged in then the ipod will play, unplug the ipod to activate usb.
To go to cd changer you need to switch ignition off, swittch the switch on the aux port to changer & ignition back on
1. Yes track info is displayed on the ipod regardless of the stereo
2. Its either or. You can select ipod user invoice or icelink. Not both at the same time
3. No, but they did say they were going to release extensions - will see how thats doing
4. See above post
5. Once in ipod or usb its great - I have the 300 in my car at the moment. Easy to browse if you have the text facility on
