The grommit I used on my Cooper was on the drivers side by where the brake pipes are.

I stuck a straightened out coathanger through from the engine side attached the cable in the footwell with ducktape (it needs to be really well held on) and then pulled it out from the engine side. I then ran it under the trim into the boot.

It was acceptable in the 80's

There is a gromet on the passenger side behind the glove box (box comes out easily) It is the entry for a big loom but there are free channels which are blocked by rubber moldings. Really it is easy you can feel them bonnet side behind the plate near passenger windscreen wiper (honest). Although i cut into speaker cables for mine all went pair shaped when starting the car. Need to earth amp and stereo at same point close to amp, so for the mo mini is amp less but i believe in the dream and it will happen oh yes!

In a RHD MCS the battery cable runs under the LHS Passenger sill trim panel, see here :-

From an article on ICEing your MCS

Its the thick RED cable in the photo.
It passes through the bulkhead behind the passenger glovebox (LHD car in photo!) and just outboard of the end of the heater airbox where the rest of the car harness passes through the bulkhead.

I would copy this layout for your AMP feed as by copying the MCS routing you should have less peoblems as there is sufficient clearance in a MC.
