AC Light Flashing - MINI2

Right this is not happening in my car. But in my Brothers ONE.

He says when he presses the AC button it will go green for a bit then it will start to flash.

Its not done this before until now. Is the AC trying to say it needs some thing changed or cleaned ?

could be it needs re-gassing. if it needed cleaning it would smell like a dustbin

how mutch will this cost? grr my mini is starting to get on my **** now iv already had to shell out for a new exhaust fitting after it failed its mot becuse of it and i have also had to get a new rear light electrical pannel after the last on packed up.

He's got a leak in the system. Tell him to find a very friendly air con specialist who will re gas it, then put die into the gas to locate the leak. Quite common on MINI's due to the position of the condenser.

Could cost £££ i.e. several hundred pounds to fix, or he could re gas it every so often. Depends on the scale of the leak. May last a year before the system is empty.

I had the flashing air con light, found some guy in the yellow pages who checked the system for leaks and then regassed it; works better than ever now!

He only charged £45!
