Ireland Navigation DVD update

I have a 2005 MINI with navigation, I am planning a month road trip round europe and just asked MINI if there were any up to date navigation dvds.

They told me there was an updated dvd released Jan 2007 and it wil cost £170+Vat, OUCH!!

Anyone know if there is a way round this, even if someone has somehow got a spare, let me know.

This is a steep price for the DVD!

he will upgarde the firmware and the maps for a lot less than BMW. You will also get 3D maps as standard as well.

Cheers, I will be ordering the upgrades from there!

Just checked the location of the sat-nav unit in the boot, to the right in the cubby whole, the unit is positioned towards the top of the cubby whole and therefore I am unable to gain access to the front to put in the DVDs. Any ideas or am i missing something completely!!!!

Nothing there just seat.

In the boot right cubby whole there is a black unit but the top is blocked by the upper edge of the cubby whole, I presumed this was the Sat-Nav???

Buying a DVD that is not the original off of Ebay is piracy and you can go to jail for that. The only authorized way to get the DVD or CD for the MINI is via BMW or Navteq. Either way will run you about 200 USD. I would be very careful about buying anything off of Ebay that is copyrighted.

As for the NAV, it is under the passenger seat. There should be a black metal plate with a plastic door on the backside of it. Open the little door and you will see the NAV unit.

Hi, Your looking under the wrong seat, it's the drivers seat in the U.K. You need to slide the seat forward and access the unit from the back of the seat.

look hard enough and the 2007 DVD and V29.1 os is out there on the net.

Perspective view is cool, very cool, especially in the blue colourscheme. You do however lose road names. i use the direction view for navigation and perspective view for everyday feelgood factor. You see load of people trying o peer at the display in traffic queues.. yep very very cool.
