kilometer count on hidden computer

Hi,

I just checked the hidden computer function on my newly bought cooper cvt 09/2003, and on the 1.1 menu, it says something like more than 40000... the problem is the regular kilometer count is around 12000, and that's what on the order form I had when I bought it.

Is there an official source for the meaning of the hidden menu, maybe the menu description on the faq page is incorrect (/forum/faq.php?faq=faq_interior#faq_diy_obc_functions) ?
maybe some of you could check if a mismatch is common ?

maybe the kilometer count has been fraudulently falsified ? how to tell for sure ?
I would have check with a bmw service center but the problem is it's where I bought the car, and it's a pretty big BMW/Mini dealer.. so I'd like to be sure before confronting them.

On the other side nothing's wrong with the car, it really looks like it only rode 12000km but I'd prefer to be sure.

any advice ?

MINI documentation I have says 1.1 is "K-factor tire calibration"
(1.0 is last five digits of VIN)

Is this some other hidden display set?

can you point me to your documentation ? the one in the faq/diy section says :
1.0 Chassis number
1.1 Kilometer count
1.2 Parts number
1.3 Coding-, Diagnostic- and Bus-index
1.4 Production Date (Calender week/year)
1.5 Hard- and Software status
1.6 Injectorstatus, Cylinder count, Engine factor.

My 8/2005 Cooper S has gone 11500 miles, but in the hidden menu 1,1 says 46403 so mine also shows something else. I don´t know what this means but perhaps someone knows.

My info is from "MINI Complete" which is the offiical handbook that techs use on their R50/53 training courses (go to MINI TIS EPA and follow many links to find how to buy it - for $100!)
