Have you already moved the RCA cable around, between HU and amp?
Try running it loose through the middle of the car.

This noise is either ground pickup, or cable pickup - you seem to have eliminated ground pickup.

That whine is just your power steering aid Only joking!

I no exactly how annoying the whine can be, and in my experience it has always been a bad earth. When you say you have moved the earth, where have you moved it from and too?

i moved the earth from the battery area to inside one of the cubby holes in the boot (the one on the left theres an earth point in there)

think the next stage is to earth the head unit, earth the RCS's, and earth the amp all in different places

hope this helps

i had a similar problem, had mikey fit an rca filter for me, they cost 20 quid to buy, mikey did this for me for free. heres a pic. they also boost the signal going into your amp so you get a better sound. this is an autoleads one.

I tried one of those in GBMINI#3; it didn't make any difference for me

It will only solve ground loop issues, not pickup or other problems.

Sounds almost too simple, but have you tried Earthing & Suppressing the Root cause of the Whine
.. The Alternator
This used to be the Very First stage in noise filtration when I was a lad

We spoke on the phone & as I said 'alterantor whine' is normally always something on the earthing side.
Have you tried moving the amps tempory?
One thing to note - How bad is the whine? On my last S I noticed a very faint whine from the rear - only audible with no music playing & when accelerating with the heater off & windows shut. I assumed it was an amp problem, but then when messing with my system noticed it was there with no power connected & even with the amp disconnected!
My new S it is there - Standard speakers & no stereo no amp - there is a VERY faint whine coming from the rear of the car & I havn't worked out where from yet

It may be stating the obvious, but are you running your RCA cables down the opposite side of the car to your power cable? Nobody seems to have mentioned this yet....
