I can't hate something which I haven't had a play with, but I can argue that its not the best option (which is was stated as) when I know it isn't

I believe that this Kenwood cannot use iPod digital audio like the Alpine. This is one feature that is still very unique to the Alpine iDA-X001.

I'm looking to install a KVT-729DVD myself on the Bank holiday weekend, I installed a Clarion in my last MC and its not to bad to do (MFSW Interface from Mikey ).

I have a MCS now and just fancy a change from the Boost CD.

Any tips on where to install the Navigation box because I know you have to get to the SD slot to update the maps etc... so it has to be accessable.

Fellas, no way is that the ultimate... imho, this is:
(great, I can't post urls... add the http part and translate below as needed...)

www DOT harmankardon DOT com/drive-1/default.aspx?Country=US&Language=ENG&Region=USA&#b tm

the drive + play 2. I have the #1, and finally something that's actually LIKE the ipod and relatively speaking as fast as. The 2 promises to outshine even that!
