Hi there, I've just fitted a aux cable in the cd changer port but no joy! But I think it would work if I could trick my boost stereo in thinking there is a cd changer connected, all it needs, I think, is a live to the right connection????? To trick it? Any body know where to get a wiring diagram for this 2002 boost unit, thanks luke

Go to Car Audio Systems, Car Stereo, In Car Stereos, Radio, Car Audio Accessories for Aux-in adaptor. I will email you a procedure for fitting, but not required for this peice of kit. Below is a pin out for the boost radio/CD

Hello, I have just installed the AUX cable to my Cooper S 04 with single CD Radio Boost. Got the cable from ebay for £40, part number 65 12 0 308 752 which matched the part number my local BMW dealer and they wanted £60. Took me about 40 mins to install. I removed the glove as shown in the RHD DIY guide which was easy enough. Once that was removed i used a small mirror to see the back of the headunit and locat where the AUX plug needed to go. I was going to run the cable as shown in AUX guide but decided to run it to the glove box. There was a plastic push out blanker close to the AC knob. The hardest part i found was attaching the AC pipe behind the glove box back onto the AC connection, still not 100% sure it fully on whats the AC connection used for ?Thanks for all the help and DIY guides !!

Looks like a good set up Ben, I am looking into putting an Aux into my 53 MCS. It has the Boost HU and Cd Changer in boot. Is there still an Aux port in the back of my HU if anyone knows? Cheers

Hello, Best thing to do Dan is just remove the glove box (really easy 5 min job) and have a look for yourself ![]() Its alittle tight round the back of the head unit, but i used a small mirror so i can see the empty connections at the back. The AUX port was on the far left need the glove box. It might already be taken with the CD Changer ??? Cheers Ben |

Just thought I'd chime-in with my failure. I purchased the AUX cable from Coopersport.com - Unique MINI Accessories made for MINI Cooper brand vehicles incl. Cooper S JCW ONE Clubman - Personalizing Perfection (run by Bimmian). Their description said it was for 02-06 models. It should have said 03-06 models, because I ran into the same problem described here. The AUX cable doesn't work for any Radio Boost CD produced before 09/2002. The resistor and two capacitors don't 'enable' the AUX mode, as the AUX mode doesn't exist. I also found the diagram on this site with the pin-outs for the early 2002 Boost CD player, and tried moving the pins around to use the CD-Changer input, NAV input, TV input, phone input. No luck with any of it, and not for lack of trying over a 3 day weekend. Presumably the input needs to be enabled. It would be marvelous if a certain resistance resistor triggered the input to be active, but I don't know. Or it's possible that it needs a CAN-BUS signal to activate. Either way, I don't know how to do it. So defeated, I replaced the burnt-out bulb near the cigarette lighter trim ring, and followed the excellent anti-squeak post. Still don't have an AUX input, but the bulb works, and I've eliminated maybe half of the squeaks and rattles in my car. I guess I'll sell this useless (to me) AUX cable. Maybe I can throw-in installation, and someone in the Greater Toronto Area will bite. Blitzsafe has adaptors that will work, but too many versions, and not enough description to sort out the differences. Anyone know about these? I want either an iPod Touch one, or just the AUX input (and use my SendStation Pocket Dock). Chilli Red/White Cooper S, Sport Pack & Sunroof. Delivered June 12th, 2002!Now with MCS Winter Tire Package.

On a similar point: I have a 2003 CD Boost HU. I bought a Connects2 IPOD interface to plug straight into the CD Prep wiring in the boot. After initial connection and testing it didn't work. I contacted the supplier, BMW and a few Audio Specialists, and they all told me that the stereo needs recoding to recognise the new device. BMW say as the car never had a CD Changer the stereo won't recognise anything that is plugged in to the wiring without recoding. They want £95 for the pleasure. 1 - Does anyone know anything about this? 2 - If I ditch the IPOD interface and go for an AUX in instead, will this be plug and play, or will the HU require coding for that too?
