Retro fit Cruise Control

Chris,
Know it was some time ago now (2004) but you had some info on the requirement for retro fitting Cruise control to MC.
I have the Wheel Slip ring Airbag etc but believe I need a loom section and instructions.
any info greatly received

Motoringfile have had the instructions up for some time now. They're what I followed when I did mine - wouldn't like to do it again though.

The loom costs ~£20.

To fit the loom, the seats need to be removed, the inner sill covers, glove/oddments box driver and passenger side, the dash top, speedometer.
The loom connects to the fusebox in the left sill, the BCU in the right sill, the speedo, the new slip ring @£90 & a new brake switch @£25.
It feeds through the bulkhead to the DME control unit. The 40 pin DME connector needs all its wires removing and refitting one by one into a replacement plug which can accept the new loom - not a job for the feint hearted! The BCU then needs to be coded to enable the MFSW + Cruise control.

If you can find a dealer who will take it on; they'll quote 8 hours for the whole job, which at my local dealer rates comes to over £1000 labour - with £150 parts that's a total of £1200 not including the steering wheel!
It took me a couple of days to do and then got a dealer to code the computer.

When I did mine I did not need to take out the seats but did need to remove the sill trim to get to the IBUS connector.

Also @ the engine ECU connector I just added in the 2 pins to the existing connector after drilling out the blanking plugs in the sockets, much easier than removing every connector.

IF you can buy the parts second hand and DIY then not an expensive mod, even the coding only cost my 1/4 hr labour @ Stratford MINI and got a free wash and vac.

Here's the list of parts in the retrofit kit. In my case (2003 manual gbox), the Clutch module and clutch sensor plate were not needed. I think they're only relevant for very early cars. You probably also won't need the clips unless you're very unlucky removing the sill trims.
Code:
  1 x Slip Ring 61316800997 £90.00
  1 x Brake light switch 61316967601 £22.90
  1 x Clutch module 61319122702(/61316905900?) £19.60
  1 x ClutchSensor plate 35316765622 £0.14
16 x clips 51437048911 £3.57
  1 x Cableset 61120136522 £15.80
  1 x Double connection 61138364566 £0.71
25 x Cableties 61131367599
