Oil temp imo

Also, how do you tell if your s/c belt is slipping?

Ye i thought as much got my eye on a set on ebay but they have black dials cant get a matching set in the OEM look style!

As far as i know you cant tell if the belt is slipping if you have nothing to indicate to you that it is!

So thats were the Boost gauge comes in, if its boosting low then you will no with what the gauge is reading at! (obvious) which indicates a leak somewere or maybe a slipping belt!

I dont no to much about all these gauges as yet im still reading up on them and waiting for a reply from Mat see what he says!

But IMHO if i and other people have some or alot of mods then a boost gauge will be very handy becasue if you have all this fitted and no idication of a leak or slipping belt then they are worthless so thats why im very intersted in fitting one!

Thumbs up

I have the OEM kit you are looking for. It is a great piece of kit & i highly recomend it. Installation is pretty simple as the boost gauge is mechanical (not electronic) & volts gauge is a cinch.
The hardest part of install for me was modifying the gauge pod to suit RHD.
The gauge face colour matches perfectly & they light up in orange.
The boost gauge is very accurate & while i would prefer an oil pressure gauge, the volts gauge is handy with the amount of electronics in these cars.
Heres a couple of pics of mine...

Guys,

What's more important - measuring oil temperature or oil pressure?

Cheers,

Al

debate!

I'd say both are just as important. temp so you know when the oil has reached its optimum working temp so you can nail it Pressure because even a small drop in pressure can be disasterous (for you and also for others following) especially on the track!

Remember the MINI oil pressure guage is not a guage. Its total loss of pressure warning light! If its on then your likely to be screwed!
