How easy is it to change a steering wheel?

Just a quick question about swapping steering wheels, mine has the standard plastic one which i'm not too keen on, i see that for around £40 i can get a leather one on ebay

my question is, how easy is it to swap them over, and is it safe to swap the airbag between steering wheels?

i dont want the airbag to not go off when i need it

Is it possible to fit a mfsw to a car without one or would it need a whole new wiring loom?
