Whats happend to my seats?!

Hi folks

Abit of a strange one here...

As I'm sure most on here will agree, the weather has been pretty dire recently. To make matters worse the rain seems to have caused some staining on my seats

Quite large white patches to be exact. It happend after I opened the door to get in the car when it was really raining very hard. I drove home, and the next time I got in the car, the seat was covered in these whiteish patches.

Can anyone shed any light on whats happend, or how I can get rid of them? The seats are the Octagon Black half leather sports seats if that makes any difference?

Regards,

James.

If that is full leather (not sure as European models are different) you could use McGuire's leather cleaner and conditioner. It should lift the spots.

Thanks for the replies guys...

DaFlake... they are half leather seats, the centre bit with the marks is cloth.

However, when I was down at Woodmans yesterday, I was told that a decent interior shampoo would lift the marks, and then a coat of scothguard would prevent this kind of thing happening again. So I will try that. Fingers crossed that I can get all the marks off.

Thanks for the help though people.

Regards,

James.

sounds like mildew is the problem, after you take care of the problem with a good brand name of cleaner and then conditioner, you need to do keep this up on a regular basis You probably dont have airconditioning.

Actually I would think that the white is nothing more than salt. If you have worn shorts and sweat a bit in the seat, it is possible that the salt was there and then when the rain hit the seat it brought it to the surface.
