Steering Wheel Lock

Hi all. First post!

My partner is due to pick up her R53 electric blue Mini this week but i'd like to get her a steering wheel lock for it as an extra deterrant

As i've never owned one myself (really should though!) I don't know if there is one that is considered the one to have above others?

Thanks, Chris

The Cooper S came as standard with a Thatcham approved alarm and immobiliser, to be honest I don't think the steering wheel lock will offer much more security or deterrent. Unless the insurance company are offering a discount to have one fitted, I'm not honestly sure it would be worth the investment?

Hi Chris & welcome to MINI2,

Good choice of car your partner has made

Although I agree with Paul that the existing security/immobiliser is adequate, I think that as an added visual deterent a steering wheel lock is a good idea. There are some huge one's on the market that cover the whole wheel (too cumbersome ?), I would go for one of the smaller ones that look easier to fit & also would slip under the drivers seat when not in use. Halfrauds usually have loads of that sort of thing in stock.

Good luck

John
