CD Multi Changer

I am being offered an Alpine CD Multi Changer from a BMW 3 Series Coupe.
Will it go straight into my Mini Cooper ?
Do I need a fitting Kit ?
Are they expensive ?
Does anyone have a part number ?

I have been doing a bit of research into this recently which resulted in me buying a CD changer from someone on Ebay.

Your CD changer needs to be of the I-Bus type with square/rectangular socket connections rather than the earlier circular lead. I think a 3 series coupe would have the correct connections.

Your MINI needs to have the CD prep in the boot otherwise it won't connect up. To check have a look under the carpet at the rear right hand side of the boot or in the 'cubby' hole again on the right hand side.

The leads look like this:

To mount the CD changer you will need the following from your MINI parts dept:

1 x Bracket - 65 12 6 912 286
4 x Screws - 88 10 0 141 191 (to attach the changer to the bracket)
3 x Self Tapping Screws - 51 45 8 236 618 (to attach the bracket to the bodywork)

CD changer

HEY:

Does anyone know the part number for the OEM CD changer. I have found a place in canada that claims to be offering the OEM BMW cd changer that fits in the mini cooper . They provide a BMW part number. I just wondered if anyone out there has the number so I can cross reference it. Here is the website with the awesome deal on the changer.

Please give me feedback !!

BMW use different part numbers for the CD changer for different models. It's the effectively the same unit, that picture is certainly the right one.

What to look for and how much

Hi,

I am in the same position, currently browsing the net and wondering which BMW/Alpine models would be the best to go for?

Also wondering how much is a decent price to pay ... the BMW kit is £235 new anyway isn't it?

Cheers,

Nico

Smile cd Changer

Bought the BMW (Alpine) changer that had been fitted to a 3 Series- £100, Fitting Kit from BMW £12, Mini already wired, fitted in 20 minutes and working using standard Mini Radio.
Just make sure the plug/connections match, see the pictures from Monsta.
Cheers Neil
