Thanks Picard I did look on the realoem website but couldn't see what I was looking for. Now other than ringing up the stealers and asking the individual prices of each component, does anyone know a way of finding the prices from the dealers, such as database or something like that?

The current accessories brochure details the chrome interior retrofit parts. The problem is, they don't provide a ring for the rev counter -- only the complete unit, which is £129 on its own. However, Mikey at NewMINIStuff.com sells the complete kit at around £100 which includes the ring for the rev counter. Beware of other chrome interior kits you may see, which are stickon ones. Mikey's is the same as you would have got had you ordered the chrome line interior with your car. I've just ordered mine :-) Oli

Finished fitting my kit from New Mini Stuff this afternoon. Was unsure as I started doing it whether I'd done the right thing, but now it's done it looks great and the mismatch between anthracite everywhere and silver on the rev counter is now resolved ![]() What's totally cool is that Mikey spotted this thread and gave me the discount. Thanks Mikey -- that's incredible. Cheers Oli

Sounds like you offer a good service there Mikey, and when I can I'm going to order the chrome trim kit from you. a Couple of questions though, whats the delivery time on the kit, and is the discount only offered to privelage members (as I havent joined up yet) Cheers Mike

In a word, no! I didn't read the "how to" properly before I stared and thought I'd have a go at prising it off. It did come off, but my fingers still hurt the next day and looking back I really should have gone to the effort of dismantling the dash as per the "how to". When I finally prised it off, I found that it had been glued in place. This is possibly from the factory or possibly from when I had my dealer fix all the dashboard rattles. So, I wouldn't recommend following my method at all. What you will find is that you will need a Torx 25 bit for the rev counter and a driver with a decent length shaft. After losing my torx bit down the side of the steering wheel and struggling with the wrong screwdriver for the job, I drove to my local ScrewFix branch in Gloucester and bought a Makita 101 piece bit set they had on offer for £15 (with every bit I could need, a decent length driver, and lots more besides). Be careful of the gearstick gater. The plastic is easy to break. Take note of the prongs that fit in the holes when refitting the gaiter ring and note that one peg is bigger than the others. Just allow yourself plenty of time and take care not to damage anything by prising things off too hard. The air vents seem to rotate, which is possibly an easier method of removal than just pulling hard. Cheers Oli
