Air Conditioning

Are you people happy with your air con / climate ?
Has anybody measured the temperature of the air flow from one of the vents. (inserting the thermometer in the vent about 3 inches)

My climate in my mini is not as good as in my Pug 206 with climate.
The coldest I can get my Peugeot is 5.1°C
The coldest I can get my MINI is 8°C

We had a very hot summer here in NJ, and I have to say that the MINI air co is one of its weaker points. If you let it run for a long highway trip, you'll be cooled eventually, but for shorter hops around town, forget it.

There was a recent thread saying that the vents in the boot, if blocked, stop the AC working properly... check they're clear and/or crack a window open a wee bit.

They are on either side of the boot-catch, low down just above the boot floor on the slam-panel... you can see them easily if you open the hatch then look down and backwards!

Someone in another thread had bought a storage box which filled snugly in the boot space, blocking the vents and ruining his air-con... was OK when he removed the box!

Very happy with my Climate Control - set it at 16/17 deg C, and it worked beautifully during that very hot week in August

AC

I was not happy with mine either until I had my windows tinted. In fact, I was about to take it in to the dealers, but my husband reminded me where we lived & how hot it was. (the ac in his truck wasn't the bomb either until the windows were tinted). Now mine cools very quickly. Lot's of 'window' in this car. Tint if not for coolness, but for the protection of the interior.

Chili Red Cooper

IT'S ALL GOOD!!!!!!
