Red Cooper Why isn't there a CD player in this Mini?

Hi,

I'm hoping to buy my first mini and have found a 2005 Mini Cooper with Chilli pack, great mileage and everything and it's from a Mini dealer - however it doesn't have a CD player, is this weird? It is the older model but I still thought the lack of CD is strange, any advice would be appreciated!

Believe it ot not CD players weren't standard until September 2005 build onwards!

You may find that this particular MINI had a 6 disc CD Changer in the boot that the previous owner took out when they sold it.

Thanks for the speedy reply guys! It's only a small thing really and everything else is perfect so hopefully I'll be a happy mini owner next week!

As Mikey said, the Head Unit in 1st Gen MINIs is easy to change, and not expensive to do.

But if you want to keep the interior looking standard there are always MINI CD Players on eBay etc.

Sorry now, just another quick question, would a CD player not have been standard with a chilli pack even? It has half leather seats, sports suspension all that just no CD player! The garage will put one in for €250 which is fine bI just thought it was odd! Thanks again!
