Beginners question about car stereo

Hi all,

I drive a Mini Cooper -02 and it's great.

However, this one has a cassette-player with a CD-changer in the boot, and I want to replace it with a CD/MP3-player. (I wanted to include some pictures of it, but I wasn't allowd since I haven't posted 5 times here yet. It is similar to the one on the pictures in the DIY-section for replacing the car-stereo)

So now I got myself a Pioneer DEH-P65BT, because it has Bluetooth, MP3 support and I can make it's light glow in the same color as the rest of my Mini: Orange.

However, I have some questions after searching the Internet and several forums:

1. There are two types of car stereos that comes with this Mini, Wave and Boost?
2. I have the Wave-type car-stereo?
3. I have no external amp in my Mini, hidden somewhere, right?
4. 90% of the posts I have read is about H/K. I assume this is Harman/Kardon we are talking about?
5. Where some Mini's equipped with H/K sound system? Or is this an addon /aftermarket package you could install or have installed?
6. The cassetteplayer I have and the Pioneer unit I have just bought does not have the same size, the cassetteplayer is higher. This is sorted by buying a fascia adapter?
7. As I understand, the wiring is also different between this two units? But I can just buy two adapters (haness & aerial), and it's all fixed? The antenna-cable is the same?
8. Can I use the CD-changer I got now with my new Pioneer unit?
9. If I want to the the sound to the next level, what would you suggest? A amp+sub, upgrade the front speakers, amp+upgrade all four speakers, or .. ?

I do hope you have some answers, I would appreciate it very much!

Thanks for the reply, I will go to a car-audio-shop tomorrow and see if they have these adapters I need.

However, I do not know what you meant by "CLICKAGE", but the link was useful :-) Will look into it. But I buy new front speakers, can I still fit the current speaker-grill I have today over the speaker and tweeter?

Great, thanks for the info. I have been on your site several times before, but never read the FAQ. But now I know: I have a Boost MD-player, not HK and I know what parts I need to buy. :-)
