Swapping cd sat nav unit for dvd unit

I want to swap my cd nav unit for a dvd unit as the one i've got is mk3 and is poo! I read over on northamericanmotoring that it can be done. Also is it just a simple unplug the old one and plug in new one or would it have to be re programmed? HELP

As I said on NAM, it is a straight swap. However, the link that you posted shows pics of a MK3 as there is no DVD logo on the front. The pictures of the maps are that of the CD not DVD version. Don't bid.....

Funnily enough I've just sent the seller that exact question as I spotted that it didnt say DVD. But thanks anyway, I'll keep looking. Any ideas where I can buy one from besides ebay and how much?

Bimmernav.com sells them. I also posted on NAM that typically it would need to be recoded. This can be done by the dealer or you (if you get an IBus interface).
