Hi, just picked up my 05 mini one convertible after trading in my cooper. I want to fit my cd changer but am unable to find the wiring. Is the wiring there? (the ad for the car said it was) and where can i find it, I've removed all the detatchable bits from inside the boot without any luck. Any help much appreciated.
If the wiring is there but not obvious, its probably either been pushed right back or tucked right down the side of the plastic trim.
When I fitted my CD Changer I pushed the wiring right down the back of the plastic trim and pulled it out the bottom so I could plug it in, so check to see if someone has already done that
If not, take it to your local dealer and one of the salesmen/service guys should be able to find it for you
Thanx for the reply. The mini convertible is a lot different to the hatch, i had no problems finding the wiring in my first mini but i've removed everything in the boot that is removable and still can't find any wires. Might be that the cd prep isn't there.
Ive just had a look on the MINI website and it says that CD Changer Prep is standard on a ONE Convertible (even if it doesnt have the Salt Pack) So it should be there somewhere
The wiring is there, but unless a CD Changer has ever been fitted you'll need a MINI dealer (or anyone else that's fitted one before) to cut away part of the interior trim to access the connector
Bit of a massive design fault that's only on Convertibles.
On the 05/06 Cabrio is was not always there. MINI for some reason started to pull it out. So, it is possible that the wiring is not there. This was only on the Cabrio.
