Fitting Sat Nav, Not Ur Average Question

Hey all

dont think this question has been asked before so here goes

the sat nav can be used as a dvd player aswell?? if im wrong then stop here

if it can, i know its hassle to install the whole sat nav system so you have working sat nav

but would it be possible to have the basic functions running some how e.g. the fuel reader to tell you when your tanks empty and full and the dvd player functions?? i was thinking of fitting dvd in the car you see but i didnt really want a screen and this would look alot more stubble

i was thinking along the lines of its own power, negitive and earth set up similar to what an amp would have.............
