am afraid i have no idea, only had the car a couple months. whats the difference? oh and would i have to fit a switch to turn the sub on and off, or would the power be cut when the engine is turned off. i had to fit a switch on my punto. there is an audio specialist in my area, if i asked him to fit my subs to the headunit, would he be able to do it? hmmmmm

If its done properly the stereo will switch them on & off If your not sure what stereo you have look at the FAQ at NewMINIStuff.com What model numbers are the amps

This is what i used so i could keep the boost head unit / ipod link /mfsw (and the missus (who likes the MINI stereo) happy) JL Audio: Products can take it from car to car for years to come. UK supplier you're looking at £400 Ebay USA inc postage and VAT £150 ( coz i got mine and fitted it last month )
