Was this over the last few days? He's been in the lakes orgaising his annual Lakeland tour. He'll be back in a few days, but the shop is manned if you need to speak to anyone. He has also had an email problem of late, meaning that lots have gone astray, there was a post about it last week. Sounds to me as though the answer to the orignial question is the Gateway 100 or 300, depending of course on what you want to connect to it. GATEWAY 100 - NewMINIStuff.com GATEWAY 300 - NewMINIStuff.com I personally I have the Gateway 300, and love it. Great piece of kit, and keeps the full OEM look with the MINI head unit. Mikey's service is flawless with most items arriving next day from my experience.

True, but it'll still slide around. If you don't mind them putting it on your dash, the HK or one from mikey would probably be best and cheaper. Ive seen them with a screw took out of the dash tubes (go by cd, heater etc) and then clip it onto here and insert a larger screw - not even permanent!

Mikey does sell a kit that you can mount as do other vendors. However, I elected not to do this as a permanent mount makes you a target of thieves looking to score a quick Ipod that might be tucked out of sight. I've seen a few MINIs with busted glass due to Ipod holders or Nav mounts hanging about. In my MINI, I have the glove box divider with the ipod run to it and it sits in there just fine with little to no movement. It is more or less a permanent Ipod as I have another for jogging and such. Heck, it wouldn't be hard to make a little foam piece to eliminate all movement. The HK system is nice, but you have additional bits that take up room as one person already mentioned and I like the additional room for gauges and such. Intravee is probably the best solution if you have Nav and short of that, the Gateway is good solid solution. I typically don't recommend the OEM one as it is very limited in functionality and expensive for what you get.

My Gateway 300 came with some small holders, (various ones for various pods). They can be seen wrapped around the mp3 players in the picture in this link NewMINIStuff.com Mine sits in one of these holders fixed to the side of the cubbie hole next to the steering wheel. It doesn't slide around or get scratched. I do however wish I'd mounted it in the glovebox.

I have the intravee set up in my Cooper S with Sat Nav. I am getting a Cooper S Conv in a couple of weeks (without sat nav). I assumed that intravee would not work and so will probably order Gateway. Before i do so could you confirm whether Intravee does work with the '05 Boost Headunit alone and if it does will it give me text? Thanks
