I pod connection Hello All, Could anyone tell me what I need to connect an I pod to a 2005 MCS with Radio Boost CD player. What is available, is there one I can get which can be used with MFSW? Thanks

Actually, it will work but.... 1. It is a very expensive solution for non nav owners. 2. Defeats the purpose of getting it as it is mainly for text. Gateway does this for non nav uses at a fraction of the cost. If Simon developed a dumbed down version, it would be great but I don't see that happening.

That's probably fair comment. I used a few different solutions* in my BMW before getting the Intravee, but I had nav in that car and in my Mini, I also have Alpine DAB (not that it's any use in NZ), and I had an Alpine iPod interface already so it was just the cost of the IV2, which on the beta programme was not that much. It's probably a good call to go with the cheaper option unless you want to use some of the other functionality like DAB if I understand correctly that it has the same level of integration with the OE controls as the Intravee. *I tried the ICE>Link Plus which was utter, unmitigated rubbish and I used the Harmon Kardon Drive+Play which was excellent, but I don't like stuff stuck on the dash/centre console. I've also used the Pioneer version of the Alpine interface and it makes the ICE>Link Plus look good! Fen GTT230+ in DS

Yeah, I have the Intreavee and love it and it is a lot better than the Icelink. The only downside is that I have noise on the line that I have been unable to stop. One other thing that I forgot to mention is setup. Without the display, you couldn't setup the unit or use items like random.

If you don't have a CDC, dealers fit ipod connection for £185+/-, or you can get Harman Kardon etc from Halfords. Depends - are you bothered about it being permanently attached or would you like it hidden. Either option should charge your ipod, however, the oem doesn't hold it still so you may get scratches!
