Lightbulb Windscreen/Windshield Visor Tints

As you've probably found out, the sun visors are not very effective for dealing with the Sun. If the sun's glare is coming in at the top corners of the windscreen, then the sun visors can't really help very much - when flicked forwards, they do not cover this part of the screen. When flicked to the side and angled upwards, they are only marginally better.

Consequently, I'm thinking along the lines of some sort of windscreen visor tint to combat glare along the top of the windscreen. Unfortunately, I'm not even sure if this sort of thing is called a visor tint or even has a specific name, so here are some pictures I found of it on the internet:

So, from a functionality point of view, that's what I'm talking about. Except I'd rather not go for something that has lettering or logos on it. Maybe even a tint that gradually fades and blends in with the rest of the windscreen (leaving only the top edge tinted) without a harsh cut-off would look less boy-racery/chavy/neddy/etc... I'd also like to avoid something that would be completely opaque or a solid strip for the same reasons.

So I'd like something that will be in keeping with my fairly stock-looking March 2004 Indi Blue MINI ONE, but will provide the functionality to reduce sun glare along the top edge of the windscreen.
Note: I have reaction lenses in my glasses that are unable to tint inside the MINI due to the MINI's windscreen filtering out UV light - hence I am unable to simply wear a pair of sunglasses as a cheap fix.

So... does anyone know where these are available? Are you a MINI2.com Sponsor who has a product that might fit my needs? Any other suggestions or recommendations?

All the best,
Andrew.

I haven't got a clue - but I have a friend with a Nova who might be able to help

You've got two choices really, apply a light tint to the top of the screen (check UK law on how far down this is allowed to be) to filter out the suns rays, or have your windscreen changed for one with a graduated top tint. MINI offer this as a factory option, so the screens exist.

Aha... that sounds like a good option!

I've got one or two little stone chips that it would be good to get rid of too. So maybe I can kill two birds with one stone? (slight pun intended )

I suppose that'd have to be a visit to the dealer or a call to an automotive glass specialist or something like that?

Does anyone have any pictures of an OEM graduated top tint windscreen?

All the best,
Andrew.

You could have 'Andrew' on the drivers side, and then 'Victim' on the other side
