HELP - Installing a subwoofer with a boost radio Hello, This is my second thread here and I am hoping that someone out there can help me with this. I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S with the orginal Boost CD radio and I am wanting to install an active (amp built into the sub) subwoofer into my boot (keeping the same headunit and not disturbing too much of the interior).... What do I need to to wire the sub in and how do I do it (pictures, tutorials???) What is the best subwoofer out there? I am unsure about splicing (what ever that means) the radio cables as I want to keep the car as original as possible I hope someone helps me as this is driving me around the bend ![]() Many Thank

This is not an easy thing to do as the HK system is a digital system. Also the speakers of the HK system are 2 Ohm (I assume that the amp you have is capable of 2 Ohm?) I have heard that some folks have achieved it but to be honest I have no clue if it is true or not. Perhaps Mikey (NewMINIStuff.com) can help.

Thanks for your help on this, but I have the standard Boost CD system (not the HK system) I have read of people managing to install a sub with the standard system and I really would like to know if it is possible and how you do it? Many Thanks

Where can I find one of these RCA cables? I have been doing some research and I don't want to 'splice' the factory wiring... Will this RCA adapter just plug into the back of my Boost Radio? How about the 12V constanat power cable - where does that get wired in? Many thanks for your help

you can get an RCA cable at halfords but im not 100% the boost radio has rca outputs, 12v constant power cable would have to be spliced into somewhere that has constandt power when the car is on, you can use a wire behind the stereo (cant remember what one). go to NewMINIStuff.com and have a look around it will have everything you need and if you are still not 100% sure then send him (mikey) an email, he replies quickly in my experience and will tell you exactly what you need. p.s just read my post through and its not actually that helpful ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The standard boost unit doesnt have RCA outputs but thats not a problem You can buy an amp or active sub with HIGH LEVEL INPUTS, if so I can provide a plug & play adaptor that plugs into the stereo & provides high level outputs for you to attach to. without splicing the factory loom. It also has a turn on lead to trigger your amp. £20 + vat. If your amp only has RCA inputs I can provide a RCA plug & play version of the above for £30 + vat. With either you will still need to run the live cable from your amp to the battery We do sell a active sub that will fit under your seat. As said above these are not anything like a decent 10" sub but will make a difference.

Thanks for this info Mikey - I already have the adapter for the aux lead (bought from you) will this effect having the RCA Plug and Play lead aswell? Can you send me a URL to the product on your website and I'll order away
