Bluetooth Retrofit in a Mini 2

I'm just getting into a few retrofits on a Mini2 Cooper S and am looking to retrofit OEM bluetooth.
I've alreadydone this on my Bimmers (an X5 and a Z4) using retrofit harnesses and EBay sourced ULF modules. The system is a pain to install due to dismantling, but once running is awesome with excellent integration.

Scanning the posts on the board I cannot see that anyone has done this and most posts point to Parrot kits, which is not what I'm after.

bimmernav.com sell harnesses and they are good (well on my previous retrofits) but expensive.

So:
Does the mini have prewiring for the ULF module and bluetooth?
I don't have Sat Nav but I already have the MFSW (buttons)

Has anyone done it before?

Thanks for any thoughts or comments

This comes up every few weeks over at NAM, but as far as I know, no one has ever gone through with it. Estimates from the dealers that I've seen reported over there vary from US$1,000-$1,400.

Something a bit easier that you might consider is the relatively new mObridge system?

Ah at last someone picked up on the question

Forgive me on the acronym but 'NAM'? Link to it?

The mObridge bluetooth solution may just do it - thanks - I'll research that some more

Apologies- NAM without a link makes a few assumptions doesn't it?

If you search over there for 'Bluetooth retrofit" you should find a few posts, but they're all basically the same as what I've posted here. The primary complication, from what I understand, is that the Bluetooth module is built in with a number of other computerized bits, which means that a number of other pieces like wiring harnesses to otherwise unrelated electronics need to be changed to be made compatible.

I fitted the Parrot 3200 kit I bought it from "newministuff.com" they supplied a great little mount for it which looks like one of the air vents I will email you a picture if you like.

The sound quality is excellent and you can modify the wallpaper on the screen so I have added a mini logo so it really looks like it came with the car.

I looked into trying to retrofit the factory kit but could get no info on it.

Good luck with your project and make sure they send you good instructions with pictures showing you how to get the radio out.

That makes more sense then with the link.
So reading it looks like nobody has really got into a retrofit harness and dropping a ULF module in. Certainly there is one vendor of the harness now, so I'll work on that.

In terms of a challenge to do it - I love it. As mentioned before I've retrofitted 2 OEM BMW systems already and they both required a lot of dismantling and wiring. Any electronics will be OK as I've built my own paddle shift steptronic gearbox controllers, MFSW installs, even built unique AE headlights on both Bimmers. I just love these projects

Skipper - thanks fo the Parrot suggestion

I think the hardest part would probably be finding anybody who knows about the stuff

Would love to hear how your progress goes too

Sorry, no idea- I haven't looked into it. I know that it does require the installation of the CD changer software on the MINI, so there's at least the service charge for that. I've people comment it was around US$150.00, I guess around two hours of dealership work?
