Ipod no longer corresponding with ice-link???

I'm sure there will be some thread with an answer to this but just cannot find one!!!!

I have recently updated the firmware on my ipod through itunes and since doing so I can no longer operate my ipod through the head unit or MFSW. It will just continue playing. There is no dension screen showing either just normal ipod screen when connected. Do I need to revert back to original itunes or is there a more straight forward answer?? Hope can help! eeeek
