| Hi just picked up my MCS which was built just before the glovebox was fitted as standard. The handsfree phone mount is one that fits in down the side of the stereo or heater controls but it looks like it will foul the glovebox (which I will fit) if it sticks out past the silver downtubes. Has anyone put a phone kit into a MINI that also has the glovebox Any help/pictures much appreciated |

| Newboy, yes I'm using a Sony Ericsson T68m (upgraded to the latest software of the T68i, T68m is identical to the T68i aprt from the new colors) with the Ericsson HBH-15 BlueTooth headset. Works like a dream and no carkit expenses and you can just get in and out the car while continuing the conversation. The headset works in a range of approx 5 of the phone. So you can talk on the phone when filling her up at the gasstation while the phone remains in the car. I'm only using BlueTooth headsets no carkits (which are expensive if you want a decent one with as good audio qualiry as my headest). Give it a try you won't be disappointed. The price of a BlueTooth phone + headset is less then a good carkit. My setup cost me 500 euro(phone) +200 euro(headset)= 700 euro(VAT incl) and remember I can use it any (future) cars. Try that with a carkit. Also I can use any kind of phone as long as it's BlueTooth-enabled. No need to get a new carkit and to stick with a particular brand. Talking about a good investment. | PanaVise ( www.panavise.com ) makes a celphone mount that fits with the glovebox. I installed mine yesterday but didn't like it because it sticks out too far towards the rear of the car and is in the same general location as the passenger's knee. I'll take pictures when I remove it this weekend and post them here. Alas, it's designed only for LHD cars, so it'd be useless to you UK guys anyway. I'm sure someone will come up with a better option in the near future. Ditch BTW, the PanaVise part number is 75146-102. |

| cell phone mount http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=15616 Above is a thread I started, showing how I installed my cellphone. Though my car is LHD, I have considered moving my phone to my drivers-side pillar to lessen the reach on the off chance i have to make a call while driving. you couldn't probably make a bracket similar to what i did. and if you do exactly what i did, then it is right by your steering wheel. with regards to the glovebox, the way i have mine, it opens smoothly, the phone mount does not interfere at all with it.
